My grandparents had season tickets from the Blues' first year in the NHL. They passed them along to my dad when he reached adulthood, and he dragged me to my first game when I was 8.
I was hooked. He and I attended every home game together from that first one when I was only eight years old until he passed away when I was 20.
It was the only thing he and I had in common and really the only time he and I spent together. Luckily, my guy loves hockey as much as I do, so Blues hockey is still a major part of my life.
But dad-daughter hockey games really are the best, and I'm glad you and your dad were able to share in that experience last night.
I hope you guys keep with the tradition. We were big on the Cardinals' games, but not season ticket holders or anything. Keep Bleedin' Blue, Rebecca (:
